Crain News
American Trade Magazines sold
American Trade Magazines and its three brands — American Coin-Op, American Drycleaner and American Laundry News have been sold to Charlie Thompson, a 22-year ATM and Crain veteran, and publisher since 1998. As these publications serve smaller niche markets, the Crain Board of Directors felt the best chance for these brands to thrive and grow would be in a smaller publishing environment.
These three titles have been published for decades and have an extremely loyal following among their target audiences. Mr. Thompson is well known in these industries and is very excited to be taking the entrepreneurial step to now run them on his own.
American Trade Magazines will be moving out of the Chicago office over the next few weeks.
American Coin-Op has covered the coin laundry industry since 1960. The monthly publication offers operators, manufacturers and suppliers in-depth coverage of the latest industry trends, new products, energy-saving methods and management strategies.
American Drycleaner brings news, expert advice and in-depth features to drycleaning businesses and suppliers nationwide every month, a heritage that started in 1934. Stories focus on management, equipment and operations to help drycleaning business owners build their skills and profits.
As the “Newspaper of Record for Laundry and Linen Management,” American Laundry News is the premier news source for managers and administrators of institutional/on-premise laundries and textile rental companies (commercial, industrial and linen supply).
